Yes, leave the string on. When the joint is cooked, let it rest for 30 minutes before carving, then take the string off and carve. Enjoy!

If it's been boned yes otherwise it may fall apart.

A good tip though is to undo the string and put some stuffing inside and re-tie it.

yes you do, then cut it off after the pork has been cooked and you have left it to rest for a bit
